Vasai, a suburb of Mumbai famous for its history of VASAI FORT, yes you heard it right CHIMAJI APPA FORT & now famous for its MISAL, DAHI MISAL & POHA only and only under the name of SANTOSH MISAL PAV
Apart from the other Misal Centres in North & South Mumbai this place in small village of Vasai road has earned a big name for its tempting spicy misal and comes under the category of famous misal pav in Mumbai.
It was started by Mr. Santosh Gaikwad & his family in 1999. It’s just walking distance from Vasai railway station behind Parvati Cinema & besides Golden Park Hospital.
Initially this business was started 20 years back it was just a road side stall by Mr. Santosh Gaikwad & his wife Mrs. Sheetal Gaikwad. That time the rate of Misal was Rs.10 & Poha
was Rs.3 and now it is Rs.50 & Rs.20 respectively.
Till 16 years customer’s had to eat standing as it was a road side stall & now they have rented a proper shop where customer’s enjoy having Misal sitting with family & friends with comfort.
This is not all as the business grew their children’s grew up too. The second generation is also now a part of this business. Santosh Gaikwad’s daughter Bhagyashree (an Engineer) & son Raviraj (a BMS Graduate) play an important part in this family business.
Now comes the main part of the Misal, pulses used by them are grinded by themselves and they don’t compromise with the quality. They use only Sunflower oil
for their preparation. Main aim of the family behind this is after eating the Spicy Misal
one should not feel or have any Acidity problem.
The specialty of this place is Tempting & Mouth Watering Spicy Misal & Dahi Misal which is also a good option for people who don’t prefer too much of spicy food. A glass of chilled buttermilk at the end of a Spicy Misal competes the Meal.
The name started spreading as more and more people came in and their word of mouth brought in more customer’s. They are being greeted & treated as one of the family members to them which makes them feel like they are at home when they are here.

You can easily spot me between 9.30-11 am in the morning here. I am a die-hard fan of their Misal-Pav and specially the Dahi-Misal which is the hit item here”. Says
